Where Are You?

The days pass by in quiet, undisturbed by sounds of living,
Gone now the excitement, of companionship you were giving;
The solitude of each hour, does not alter what is true,
I miss the comfort of your presence, my dear friend- where are you?

How quickly time does slip away, leaving sorrow in its wake,
Creating chances forever lost, to be here for your sake;
When did the distance between us, become more than just we two,
Why should my lonely heart keep asking, my dear friend- where are you?

I pray whatever happened, our discord can be put aside,
Because without your friendship, a vital part of me has died;
I ask you now to forgive, and accept all repentance due,
For you only hold the answer to, my dear friend- where are you?
