| Sermon on the Mount\
|Then seeing the great multitude, He climbed up on the mount,
So all could see and hear Him, for to Him each ear did count;
He opened up His mouth that day, and taught them by His Word,
The disciples and gathered people, and this is what they heard.
Theirs is the kingdom of heaven, to those that are poor in spirit,
And comfort for those who mourn, the moment God does hear it;
The very inheritence of the Earth, has been given to the meek,
And filled shall be a reward, whom after righteousness do seek.
Blessed are the merciful, for mercy to them shall be imparted,
And them that shall see God, are those that are pure hearted;
Then He looked upon the crowd, and as He spoke gave a nod,
Blessed are the peacemakers, they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are presecuted, for righteousness' sake,
Blessed are those who are reviled, falsely caught up in evil's wake;
So were the prophets before you, persecuted by men gone bad,
Remember great is your heavenly reward, be exceedingly glad.
You are the salt of the earth, a city set on a hill so to be seen,
You are the light of the world, and to hide would be obscene;
Let your light shine before men, good works for God's glory,
Be a beacon unto the lost world, the meaning of Jesus' story.
