I am Third

In this troubled time of ours,
Where things are not so fine;
So many run the rat race,
For that better place in line.

But as for me I'm walking,
It case you haven't heard;
My place is already saved,
For in this life I'm third.

The head of the line is taken,
By the one true God of all;
And who am I too ever argue,
When faced with such a call.

The second spot is for family,
And the friends I've come to love;
For in this world of hatred,
It's just right to set them above.

And finally we get down to me,
Third and so seemingly cursed;
But knowing of God's promise,
In the next life, last is first.
