Found at Last

Today the world got a little less bright, a shining star has past,
A greatness has suddenly fallen, and extinguished way too fast;
Robbed from us by a thief in the night, a spirit was abruptly taken,
Cut down in the prime of one's life, a brilliant future now forsaken.

And left behind a great multitude, of both family and friends,
A hurt and burning emptiness, pain that only time can cleanse;
We wonder how this could happen, why it should have to be,
That a life so young and vibrant, we are no longer allowed to see.

Now each of us must cope with, the tragedy of this unexpected event,
To find that place of solace, and get past all the grief and lament;
And find the fortitude to go on, and again live fully day-to-day,
To remember all the good times, he would have wanted it that way.

Today we mourn a passing, as a troubled soul is laid to rest,
We honor the memory of good times, and wish you all the best;
For today the world got a little less bright, a shining star has past,
But let us also remember, eternal peace has been found at last.
