At Your Word |
Today I lost my way again, got started off on the wrong track, I got angry with some people, who like to talk behind my back; Then I remembered, You told me, if by my enemy I am slurred, Love them anyway, as You love me, so I took You at Your word. Today I lost my way again, made a wrong turn that lead to woe, I found myself afraid to move, unsure of the way that I should go; Then I recalled what You said, if walking in shadow has occurred, To fear no evil, for You are with me, and I took You at Your word. Today I lost my way again, I took a left instead of going right, I found myself faced with the choice, of making flight or fight; Then I applied Your good lesson, when a slap has just incurred, I offered up the other cheek, and I took You at Your word. Today I lost my way again, it seems to be a given daily event, I found myself in dire distress, wondering what it all has meant; Then I'm reminded of Your teaching, in line it's okay to be third, So I stop the stressing at being last, and I took You at Your word. Today I lost my life suddenly, without warning I passed away, I reflected back along my time, and what brought me to this day; Then Lord, You came, took my hand, and blessed me when I heard, Join Me this day in paradise, because you took Me at My word. Thank You, Jesus, for Your word. |
